Asslaamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu

‘Who Do I Worship?

Hijaz Community would like to invite you to our forthcoming event on Sunday 17th February entitled ‘Who Do I worship?' to be held at Manchester Central Mosque, Upper Park Road, M14.

* BLACK OR WHITE - Does race really matter?
* STUDENT LIFE - The reality
* THE RAT RACE - A Bottomless Pit?
* A SCIENTIFIC DECEPTION - Natural selection or divine selection?
* CELEBRITY CULTURE - Who is my role model?

Materialism is a growing problem amongst our community. We at Hijaz Community believe that material should be possessed but not pursued to the extent of worship. This day lecture course has been designed with this ethos in mind targeting realisation of materialism and its consequences. Different facets of modern day life will be addressed in order to raise awareness of the need to balance life materially and spiritually. The fundamental platform for this awareness is Realisation, a thought model inspiring a person to broaden one’s thinking to span ‘outside of the box’.

A variety of thought provoking seminars will be delivered by speakers who are qualified in both religious and academic fields of knowledge. Breaks for Qur’anic recitation and Nasheeds performed by Min’l Qalb, a rising group of young nasheed artists. The programme has been designed to allow the guest to spend time with our summit guides to find out more about projects available at Hijaz Community Trust. There will also be an opportunity to meet with the architect of the Hijaz Community model, Shaykh Faiz-ul Aqtab Siddiqi (President General IMO, Convenor MAC, Barrister at Law and principal Hijaz Islamic University.

Hijaz Community Trust is a community-based organisation, which focuses on inspiring you to develop and increase your knowledge as well as gain an insight into spirituality in an aim to realising your true potential. We believe great people make great communities. Through a broad range of projects we aim to enrich and empower the individual to create the icons of a balanced and successful community, A Hijazi Community, reflective of the community established by the Prophet Muhammed (Peace and blessings be upon him) in the original region of Hijaz around the holy cities of Makkah and Medina.

Food and refreshments will also be provided at the end of the day.
