Do you have, or need, any time to think these days? What has Islam to say about thinking and meditation? The Holy Qur'an enjoins mankind to reflect on “the Signs” both around and within us. And Muslim sages have devised disciplines to clear the mind and purify and sensitize the spiritual heart by which alone we may see the Reality beyond our senses' reach.

He has a doctorate in Persian Literature from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, his thesis being a critical edition and annotated translation of the stanzaic poems (Tarji‘at) of Jalal al-Din Rumi. He has published a number of articles on mediaeval Sufi literature and on Islamic manuscript studies.
