About ‘Family & Society Today’ is a unique course unravelling the implications and social dynamics of Islamic texts and rulings pertaining to familial, marital and societal issues. Prepare to navigate through history exploring concepts of customs, authority, power-dynamics, and social choreography in order to understand marriage, marital relations and the institution of the family from a legal, anthropological, sociological, historic, geo-political and shariah perspective. This course will cover the fiqh of marriage, marital relations, and family life in Islam albeit with a different approach.
Speakers A weekend course by Shaykh Abdallah Adhami (USA/Syria)
Shaykh Abdallah Adhami was born in Georgetown, Washington, DC, of the noble lineage of the family of the Prophet Muhammad (s). He began his studies of Shari'ah at the age of eight and earned scholarly licenses from many eminent scholars from Damascus, Egypt and Morocco. Shaykh Abdallah also holds a degree in Architecture from Pratt in New York City and has many years of international corporate experience in the area of organizational development and executive training. Shaykh Abdhallah Adhami is the founder and chairman of Sakeenah and is the author of the best selling audio series ‘Gender –Relations’
