I wish to post some info about the Tariq that I am in, which I got by ijaza from my shaykh, Shaykh al-Imam Ashaari Muhammad at-Tamimi.
This tariq was "founded" by as-Sayyid Muhammad bin Abdullah, who was born in Wonosobo, Indonesia. As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Abdullah studied in Java before going to Makkah to study under great ulama of his time including (the 2nd) Shaykh Nawawi from Banten and also Shaykh Zawawi.
As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Abdullah, known during his time as Kiyai Agung (The Grand Scholar) since alot of ulama in Indonesia became his students.
As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Abdullah receive ijaza to practise a new Tariq from the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in the Kaabah (yaqazatan wa mushafahatan).
His grandchild, the late Mufti of Singapore (Hj Taha Suhaimi believed that his grandfather is the awaited al-Mahdi.
