In a letter He (Shaykh Tijani) wrote to all the brethren, wherever they might be, he said (may Allah be well pleased with him):

"In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the All Compassionate. Blessing and peace be upon Allah's Messenger(Allah bless him and give him peace).
"Let me counsel you to do what Allah has counseled you to do.
He has said(Glory Be to Him and Exalted is He)
And We counseled those who received the Book before you, to practise true devotion to Allah(4:131)

and He has said(Glory be to Him and Exalted is He):
He has decreed for you, as the (true) religion that which He counseled Noah to observe, and which We have revealed to you, and which We counseled Abraham and Moses and Jesus to observe,: 'Establish religion, and do not become divided in relation to it' A serious challenge indeed, for those who attribute partners to Allah is that which you are calling upon them to accept (42:13)
and He has said(Glory be to Him and Exalted is He)
And hold fast, all of you together, to the lifeline of Allah and do not seperate(3:103)
and He has said (Glory be to Him and Exalted is He)
And if someone pratices true devotion to Allah, He will make his business easy for him and He will grant him a mighty reward (65:4-5)

"You should also know that the quest for true devotion(taqwa) has become a very difficult matter. It has become too far out of reach to be bridled and saddled by anyone, and aspirations have grown weary of pursuing it, so no one reaches its foundation and its corroboration, apart from the most extraordinary individual. That is because hearts and souls have become disposed to turn away, from Allah and from His commandment, in every respect and regard, and they have sunk in the mire of human concerns to a depth from which there is no hope of emancipation. This is the condition of the people of the era, in every region of everything on the face of the earth, apart from the most extaordinary individual whom Allah has rendered immune."

"Because of what we have mentioned, the ocean of terrors and troubles has billowed, the ocean of misfortunes and trials has become thirsty and people have drowned in it completely, and it has come to the point where, if the servant pleads for salvation from and aflliction and immunity from it, afflictions will encircle him.

"It has been said about this: ' A time will come to the people when the oceans of trials and tribulations accumalate, so that nothing will avail them except supplications like the supplications of the person who is drowing. The practise that will save you from what we have mentioned, however, and that will extinguish most of its fires, is frequent repetition of the plea for forgiveness, the invocation of blessing upon the Prophet(Allah bless him and give him peace), and the remembrance
There is no god but Allah Alone!
La ilaha illa llahu mujarrad.
--the remembrance:
There is no god but You, Glory be to You
I have been among the evil doers
La Illaha illa Anta, Subhanika inni Kuntu
Minal Zalimeen.
--the declaration
Allah is sufficient for us, and Most Excellent
is the Custodian! (3:173
Hasbunallahu wa Ni ma Wakil

"The greater the frequency of these remembrances, the more often will the servant be relieved of misfortunes and afflictions, and the less frequently he repeats them, the less often will he be relieved of misfortunes and affictions.'
"Nevertheless each one of you will derive benefit from these remembrances according to his capability. You must also make a frequent practise of humble entreaty and supplication to the One who possesses the perfection of Might and Majesty, for Allah is All Compassionate, Ever Loving in relation to His servants. If He is humbly implored by a humble supplication, who is encompassed by misfortunes and sorrows, and who stretches his hands towards Him, beseeching His favor and hoping for His generosity and His benefaction, He is too nobly Generous and too tremendously Gracious to send him away disappointed, or to deprive him of His mercy.'
"Incopetent indeed is someone who is incapable even of humble entreaty and supplication, and as for someone who deprives himself of Allah (Exalted is He) he has no bone-setter to mend him"

"You must therefore pay visits to Allah's door, through the passage of the hours and the succession of the moments, for if someone makes a habit of that in the succession of his moments, he will be covered, by the mercy of Allah and His fragrant perfumes, whith that which annihilates his afflictions and his worries, and eases the weight of the burdens heaped upon him by his misfortunes, because Allah is Infinitely Rich and Nobly Generous, and on account of His Generosity, if He sees that a servant has made a habit of standing at His door, even for just a few moments, He cannot bear to abandon him to the misfortunes from which he has no way out."

"You must keep this promise, and race in this arena, even for the very smallest fraction of the passage of the day and the night, in order to find facilitation in all matters and deliverance from many evils."

Excerpt from the Jawahir al Ma'ani

Seïdina Ahmed Tidjani 's letter to his followers

After praising Allah, may His name be glorified and exalted. His greatness is Immense, His Power is elevated, His majesty Sanctified »

This letter is meant for all the followers living in FES and in the Maghreb, may peace of Allah be on you, so as His Mercy and Blessing, may all this be granted to you as long as Allah’s Kingdom lasts.

From Allah’s poor servant, Ahmed ibn Mohamed Tidjani :

We ask Allah, may His power be glorified and His Immensity is elevated ; may He look at you through love-eye and with satisfaction through attention and flood of grace, through love-eye of election and choice ; may He give you all the good things one can get from religion, here and the Afterlife as much as it is possible and that of all the evil of here and in the Afterlife be spared to you ; may He protect you against any kind of evil till all your sins disappear, small or big without submerging it in the ocean of His forgiveness and generocity ; may he meet all your demands and needs, being His obedient servants, be they all be answered ; may He help you in your predestination if it is not what was allotted to you, may He replace all your prayers for something better and loftier, may He avoid any evil for you, evil coming from mere human wickedness or from other creatures, without having between you and your enemies a soldier belonging to His Power and sovereignity and if it is not against his predestination and if it is not against His decree, then I ask Allah to grant you His whole Mercy, His help you and facilitate things for your until these evils are eradicated and leave you in total safely and security.

I recomend you and myself to fear Allah truely and take care not to be surprised while committing sins for, for every sin, the servant will have two misfortunes that he will not be able to avoid ; one misfortune here below and another in the Afterlife.

Misfortune will happen doubtlessly in the Afterlife unless it is replaced by Allah’s forgiveness, exalted be His name.

As for the misfortune in this world, it will surely happen for any human being committing sins unless he rejects this misfortune by giving alms to the poor or through what he spends such as money for family relation or by the fact of paying back debts for someone or cancelling a debt which was due to him, if not, be sure that misfortune will happen to him. Therefore, keep an obeying Allah, if there is ever disobedience and the servant is not screened from sin, one must repent quickly and become obedient as far as Allah is concerned, for if this has not been done quikly, one must know that the servant is losing his esteem near the True One in such a situation he lays himself open to Allah’s anger unless he feels deep down in his very heart that, because of this sin he does need Allah’s Mercy and because of that, he is broken hearted, he is aware of his fall in the different steps of his nafs (earthly pleasures) without someone need blame him as far as the servant is following the divine right way.

Look out ! one must find shelter near Allah against the fact of feeling to be sheltered against Allah’s stratagem as far as sins are concerned and thus is feel safe and secure before Allah’s blame. Surely he who remains in this state toward Allah and remains so, for a long time, this is an evidence that he is going to die as misbeliever. May Allah protect us against such a thing.

I would have you know that everything you hear about the particularities of the Wirdd is true and will surely happen therefore beware of your carelessness in practising it ; even if is once in one’s lifetime and in neglecting the conditions of the Wirdd which are to respect the prayers in group and to be respectful of the Islamic Law (CHARI’A).

Be aware of believing that you are sheltered from Allah’s dodge, when you are committing sins, for it is indeed the origin of perdition ; don’t break your relationship with the other creatures but mainly between you and the brothers (in islam, in tariqa). Visit one another for Allah’s sake, have relationship for Allah’s sake, give food to the needy for Allah’s sake as much as it is possible for you to do so without any difficulty or discomfort.

You must obey Allah even if you are undergoing hardship and misfortunes because here below is the abode of hardship and misfortunes which are like the sea-waves and Allah has sent Adam on earth so as to make him confront with temptations and ordeals. Thus there is no hope for Adam’s sons to escape from that, as long as he is living here(dunia), so one must be patient in all circumstances as much as possible according to his capacities.

When an ordeal a misfortune happens to you, solace yourself in believing that this world has been created and organised but for that reason, because human beings have been sent down here below for this matter and everybody is running on the same lane ; let them know that we are all alike and they will be questioned on their deeds.

Be aware that in our lifetime nobody can escape from committing sins because they fall on people like a heavy rain , so, keep on repeating what enables you to atone sins here is SALAT FATIH, for no sin can escape it ; may it be committed in solitude or in a group. We have also the glorification prayer (SALAT TASBIH) and this evocation one must repeat three times everyday :

« O my Lord ! Your forgiveness is bigger than my sins and I have more hope on Your Mercy than on my deeds »

There is also something one must repeat night and day ; it reads as follows :

« There is no divinity except Allah and Allah is the Greatest.
There is no divinity except Allah the Unique.
There is no divinity except Allah ; He has no associate.
There is no divinity except ALLAH, to whom belong the Kingdom and the Praise.
There is no divinity except Allah and there are no Power and Strength
but in Him, The Almighty, The Omnipresent »

There Is also (HISBOU SAÏFI) for he who can memorise or read it out and other formula of the kind.

Take into account this good piece of news. Indeed any human being who loves us and we in return love him, then he dies with it, this one will be resuscitated with the salvation people, whatever his situation may be and this as far as he does not believe himself to be sheltered from Allah’s ruse. It is the same for those who have taken our Wird, they will rise from the dead among the people of salvation and will enter Paradise without being judged and without any chastisement it will be the same for the relatives, parents, wives and children yet, on condition that they believe in Allah, don’t refuse to love us and not to think that they are sheltered from Allah’s ruse as mentioned previously.

Thus, they will be the Prophet’s (s) neighbours in the high degrees of « Illiyne » Paradise and will be safe and secure from their death to their entrance in Paradise.

« And may Allah’s Peace and Mercy be on you and the same with His Blessing
