In my early youth when i started reading here and there, i came across this book 'Journey to the Lord of Power:Sufi Manual on Retreat' it was in early 20s(now early 30s), in a American Murabitun's home, he was living in Slough at the time. The other interesting book is the 'The Key to Salvation: A Sufi Manual of Invocation', which also has a subject on spiritual retreat.

What i remember were great openings from this book, its a very poweful book indeed but i find its not mentioned much on the net. (these were the days when i would do much Dhikr thursday night Darqawi Hadras Friday Qadiri Dhikr, and Saturday Haqqani Dhikrs - may it had to do with that.)

Damascus

Before i went to Damascus a Naqshband-Haqqani bro said when you go there read Surah Ya-sin(pbuh) at the Maqam of Muhiyyid-din Ibn al-'Arabi, for any problems you have will soon go away.!

What happen once Ibn al-'Arabi was in a kind of coma state in was freed from this sickness with Surah Ya-sin(pbuh) which is father would read at this bed since then any one that reads it at this Maqam is blessed with much Barakah.

Shaykh Nazim Adil Haqqani;

Also once Naqshband-Haqqani Shaykh said Shaykh Nazim was give the Bread from the Mosque of Ibn al-'Arabi, he took the bread and run and eat away from people. They later asked Ya Sayidi Shaykh Nazim why did you run.? Shakh Nazim replied if you know the maqam of this bread and honour you would do the same, which is who ever eats if will not die a Munafiq.

The Bless Bread- Story;

The Shaykh said one to the poeple you God you worship is under my feet, they thought he meant Him so they Kill him, by cutting him up thus Ibn al-'Arabi was Shaheed. Later they dug that ground and found it was full of Gold, they realised what the shaykh Ibn al-'Arabi meant and ever since the Bread is Made with that Gold even to this day.! and given out you can get it normally at Fajr. i've be 3 times and only on the 3rd visit did i manager to eat some.!

This Birth and Name of Muhiyyid-din Ibn al-'Arabi;

This Father was a Wali but couldn't have an children he went th Ghawth 'Al-Azim Shaykh Abdal-Qadir Jilani the Sultan-ul-Arifeen-The Master of Masters of All Sufis. long cut short,Shaykh Abdal-Qadir Jilani said i have i children left in my destiny you have have it, place you back to my back, then the ibn 'Arab's father says i 'felt an energy down my back', then Shaykh Abdal-Qadir Jilani says this name will be Muhiyyid-din Ibn al-'Arabi.

Finally in regard to this words;'Assumption of Comprehension'

Excerpt from the last will and testament of Ibn ‘Arabi’s foremost disciple:

“I enjoin my companions not to take up after me the problematic questions (mujmalat) in the intricacies of the intuitive sciences (al-ma’arif al-dhawqiyyah). Rather they should limit themselves to pondering that which is unambiguous (sarih) and clearly determined (mansus) without trying to interpret what is not plain and unambiguous, whether in my words or the words of the Shaykh. For after me these are closed passages (ayat masdudah). Let none of them accept a single word from the intuition (dhawq) of anyone, unless he should come upon the Imam, the Mahdi. Then he should extend to him my greetings in order that he may take from him the sciences which flow from him. But no one else.”
