Dear syaikh,

I knew one of the tittle of Syaikhul Islam Ibrahim Niasse r.a was the "Quthub Al Waqt", what was the meaning of it and what was the difference from the tittle of the Ghawth ? Thank you.

Salaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi,

It is known that wherever Shaykh al Islam Ibrahim Niasse went throughout the world he was recognized as the man of the Time Qutb al Waqt. this is another title for the Ghawth. For the Ghawth is the man of the time. meaning if the religion of Islam were hypothetically destroyed the ghawth would be able to revive it from memory every detail. Even the wahabies of Saudi acknowledged his presence and knowledge and asked him to pray for them. One karamat of Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse is that whenever he visited any place or whenever anyone was in his presence you would get a sense of forgetfullness.

In one of his poems. Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse stated.

I have searched all the deserts of gnosis and knowledge past and present And I could not find any Shaykh who was able to be my teacher Except Shaykh Ahmad Tijani.
