Asslaamu aleykoem,

I would like to know the following:

- Is there difference between tarika's, and what are their orgins?
- Are suffis, sunni muslims? Or are the suffis who don't follow sunnah?
- What is the reason from having different tarika's?
- Where there in the past more tarika's than current?
- Is the tassawuf the same, as the 4 imams practised?
- What benefit does one gain, and how advanced is tassawuf sience?
- Can the sufiyya shakes really fly (etc..) Could someone elborate on how this is possible? Rolling Eyes

salaams i'll address as many of your question briefly as i'm soon going to compile something about these subjects anyway.!

1. Is there difference between tarika's, and what are their orgins?

The main two sources of tasawwuf were the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (s)

as it was conveyed through the understanding of Islam of Sayiddina Abu Bakr (radi-Allahu 'anhu) and Sayiddina Ali (karam-Allahu wajhah) who are considered the two sourcemasters of the Sufi orders.

Thus Tariqahs came or stemed from two sources;
1. Abu Bakr Sidiq- 1 linked to - Naqshbandi
2. Sayyid Ali - 40 linked to Qadiri - which open the the door the the Shadhili and all its flavours and colours of paths.!

2. Are suffis, sunni muslims? Or are the suffis who don't follow sunnah?

All Sufis are Sunnis 100%
True Sufi people never deviated from the Shari'ah and the Sunnah of the Prophet and the Qur'an, regardless of the exuberance of the ecstatic utterances of some Sufis and some explanations that revealed the Greatness of God and the mercy and purity of His Beloved Messenger, Beloved Muhammad (s).

sufism is
1 Islam
2. Iman
3. Ihsan -and sufism is based at this level of excellence but before that one needs, islam - Iman which is belief is having the Correct Aqidah. and once past that can one enter in the 3rd level which is all about the Excellence in every action and in every breath.!

3.What is the reason from having different tarika's?

Tariqahs are doctors and medicine not all Medicine is for one cure; as you know for that medicine may turn out to be poison from Some.!

Tariqahs cure the sickness of people thus different medicine is needed for each sickness!

Physically medicine only cures the body but Spiritual medicine cures the hearts. And the Shaykhs job is to address this issues the Heart, and to analyse the Patient – the Murid who is the Sick and this cure is the Shaykh and the Wird/Dhikr -spiritual medicine) given which he needs to take on a daily basis to balance this spiritual energy to open up this heavenly communication with his Lord, which he has Forgotten- because Dunya;Huwa; Nafs; Shaytan have put him into a state of Ghafala- Forgetfulness and the opposite of Dhikr to Remembrance of Allah.!

4 Where there in the past more tarika's than current?
yes some have died out and this is a Sign of the End of Days and were Dajjalic forces are at work... more can be said but ... but leave it at that..

5 Is the tassawuf the same, as the 4 imams practised?

they are followed a Sufi Tariqahs;

this is the msot advance science that heals your Heart.! as the quran tells we will only get into Heaven if out hearts are pure..!

i.e one can pray salaat-namaz for 25 years but in the state of Pride those 25years of praying will curse us that the value of the prays will - minus not of barakah.. Yes outwardly one is praying hus or her salaat but inwardly his or she is only Showing-off to shoe peple look look at me i pray; his his ego may play other games with him in other ways ; there are 100s of games the ego plays to fool us; it maybe one is an islamic Events organiser but the only reason he.she does these events is for Praise ' wow so and so is so islamic aware and active with all these events he/she has organised..! which isn't the correct intention .. No the only intention should be for the sake of Allah and his beloved .!

but i ask you to stop and think who of us is doing what ibaadah-worship and who for is it to show-off, is it to get fame; and pat on the back ; or other Nafs reasons; the Ego loves praise and Recognition – credit..!

but allah Loves the 'abd-Slave- key Word Slave not Master the Slave to be a Slave and a humbly and only to do works of ibaadah of his sake. thus Sufism teachs one to clean ones Mind and Thoughts - half of Knowledge is about Niyyah - Intention.!

thats the onf othe two golden rules intention NOT action But Intention the other rule is 'adaab- Good Manners excellence Manners Especially when angered by anyone, like right now my 3 year old daughter is doing my head in as i'm typing this and yes i'm shouting and trying to be calm with her.! as if she actually understand .. ! so this is part of my test ..!

Yes the Sufi Shaykhs have gifts given to them.

Sunni s al-'Aqidah which from Al-'Aqidah At-Tahawiyah there is 105 points to it and point 98 says:

98. We believe in what we know of Karamat, the marvels of the awliya' and in authentic stories about them from trustworthy sources.

remember that Prophet Suliman had a flying throne; and other prophets had other great gifts given to them, the Sufi Masters have Inherited from the Prophets, not just there knowledge but also there gifts; as it says;

As it says in one traditons that the 'Ulema have Inherited from the Prophets';
