"wa kana radhiallahu anhu katheeran maa yashtaraa al a'beeda wa
yu'tiqahum fee sabilillah hatta innahu ashtara yauman nahwul khamsa
wal e'shreena nafsan wa'ataqahum kulluhum fi sabilillah kamaa
balaghnii (Ya'nee Shaykh Sukayrij) anith thiqaah mimman khaalita
akaabir ashaabi sayyidinaa radhiallahu anhu"


Shaikh Ahmed Sukayrij says in his book Kashf al Hijab:

"He, may Allah be pleased with him, used to be frequent in purchasing
slaves and then liberating them for the sake of God. Even to the
point that one day he bought the like of 15 people and then freed
them- everyone. This is as it was narrated to me from trustworthy
individuals who where intimate with the most prominent companions of
our Master, may Allah be pleased with him." p.16
