Speak to your shaykh first before becoming a talib.

Are you sure you understood the thread? I was asking only for a clear definition of the word ,it was "Fastkicks" who was asking about becoming a student...

Salaams and Jazakallakhair for your replies,

I think I need to take my Shaikh's permission before becoming talib of Maulana Haqqani.

Talib means expecting person too (in urdu Talab Karne wala) and student also.

A person can become Murid of only one Shaikh but Talib of many. So that he is blessed from all sides. Ofcourse he has to have complete connection with his own Shaikh but while the other Shaikhs pray, this person is also in the circle!
